The journey began in Vienna more than 40 years ago – and in 2007, the dream of an own fish restaurant became reality. Sabu Topallar, who grew up in Istanbul surrounded by fish, opened Nautilus in the middle of the Naschmarkt, Vienna's most famous market.
Together with restaurateur Sorin Spiridon he still runs the house personally – with a standard that hasn't changed since day one: only the best fresh fish, prepared without pretence and served immediately.
Six to seven fish suppliers, personally selected almost every day: Sabu Topallar decides himself what goes into our display counter – sea bass, turbot, sole, oysters, lobster and king crab of the finest quality.
Our promise of quality also means: later in the evening the selection may get smaller, because the display is usually eaten empty by night – and restocked fresh the next morning. You won't find fresher fish in Vienna.

Every Saturday from 11 am to 4 pm our oyster bar opens – an institution at the Naschmarkt. Finest Fine de Claire and Gillardeau oysters meet Veuve Clicquot, prosecco and sparkling wines, right in the middle of the market bustle.

In summer, up to 110 guests find a seat in our shaded garden terrace – right in the colourful bustle of Vienna's Naschmarkt. In winter, the sheltered winter garden and the stylish restaurant invite you to linger.
At lunchtime, delicious and affordable menus await; in the evening we serve by candlelight – from a quick business lunch to a grand fish platter dinner.
